Robert Edward Lee Howard

Robert Edward Lee Howard, 83, of Moberly, MO, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Bob was born on February 2, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, to Chester and Helen (Teuscher) Howard. He graduated from Moberly High School and on June 1, 1963, was united in marriage to Edith Lovett in Centralia, MO. In 1979, he accepted a position as a Fire and Safety Supervisor at MTCM (Missouri Training Center for Men) where he worked several years before driving a truck for Mallory Transfer and Uregas. He was a member of the St. Pius Catholic Church and enjoyed his time as altar boy in his early life.

Bob had a passion for gardening, enjoyed flowers, tinkering, fiddling around the garage, browsing the aisles at the store (especially Walmart), organizing, geography and history, specifically British history. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved being with his family, especially his kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. His family and friends will always remember him for his great sense of humor and one-liners/jabs.

He is preceded in death by his father, Chester Howard; mother, Helen Howard; brother, Bill Howard; sister-in-law, Linda Howard; and brother-in-law, Sonny Avery.

Bob is survived by his wife, Edith Howard, of Moberly, MO; son, Richard (Cara) Howard, of Higbee, MO; daughter, Jacqueline Howard, of Moberly, MO; grandson, Cody (Kate) Howard of Macon, MO; granddaughter, Natasha (Cody) McConnell, of Lone Jack, MO; grandson, Dakota Howard, of Kansas City, MO; great grandchildren, Hardin, Locklan, and Ella; brother, Tom Howard, of Moberly, MO; sister, Ellen Avery, of Moberly, MO; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A funeral service celebrating Bob's life is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, with visitation prior from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
