Robert W. Morgan

July 20, 1948 — August 12, 2025

Moberly

Robert “Bob” Morgan, 76, of Moberly, MO, passed away on a random Tuesday, August 12, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.

Bob was born on July 20, 1948, in Madison, Missouri to Emma Jane (Timbrook) and Johnny Morgan. After the untimely passing of his father when Bob was just 18 months old, he was lovingly raised by his grandparents in rural Monroe County.

Bob spent his life traveling the country, often helping to build it along the way. His work can be seen in countless subdivisions, malls, nursing homes, strip malls and yes—plenty of Dollar Generals. In fact, he was a driving force behind bringing Dollar Generals into smaller towns. To this day, we can’t see a meme about one “in a cornfield” without laughing and thinking of him. We like to say it’s his fault… and we love him for it.

There isn’t a small town in the Midwest that Bob hasn’t driven through, worked in and left his fingerprints on. His tireless work ethic, quick wit and knack for storytelling made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him. And when it came to fixing things, he was a legend—his girls would proudly tell anyone, “Our daddy can fix anything” and he proved them right time and again.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Kim; his children Chris Morgan, Trish (Stephen) of Columbia, MO, Donnie Morgan of Stoneville, NC, Amanda (Mike) Pearce of Leavenworth, KS and Brandi (Joe) Saunders of Warrensburg, MO; one stepdaughter; his grandchildren Nick (Jessica Alexander) of O’Fallon, MO, Jeffery Stegall (Paige Kidd) of Columbia, MO, Courtney Morgan (Jesse Hansen) of Hermosa, SD, Stephanie (Frank) Nejedly of Moberly, MO, Mallorye (Janna) Kirkman of Kansas City, MO, Cody Green of Moberly, MO, Aaron Green (Amber Deling) of Newton, IA, Andrew Birge (Kaydee Swartz) of Leon, IA, John Birge (Alexis Henry) of Princeton, MO, Katie (Devyn) Crumby of Wyoming and Jade Saunders of Warrensburg, MO; ten step-grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Bobbie Jean Stegall.

Bob leaves behind not just the buildings he helped construct, but a lifetime of stories, love and laughter that will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to know him.
