Romie Wallace Stephenson, born on August 12, 1953, in Houston, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2026, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Romie graduated from Westwood High School in 1973 and began a career that would see him make significant impacts in the lives of others. From 1971 until 1991, he worked at Sears, and after that, he took a step back from his career to care for his aging parents. This selfless act demonstrated his unwavering love and devotion, especially to his father, who suffered a stroke in 1966. In 2001, Romie moved to Moberly, Missouri, where he accepted a position as a caregiver, a role he dedicated himself to for over 14 years.

A man of strong faith, Romie was a member of the Bellaire Christian Church in Houston, Texas. He was known for his loving nature and kind soul. He enjoyed many hobbies, including golfing, fishing, playing video games, and exploring different sites on his computer. These activities brought him joy and fulfillment, and he shared his passion for them with those around him.

Romie is survived by his brother, Fred (Carol) Stephenson of Huntsville, MO; sister, Elaine Cook of Houston, TX; nieces, Kathy Stephenson and Pattee (Buddy) Smith of Moberly, MO; nephews, Tony (Cori) Stephenson of Omaha, NB, and Jeff (Traci) Cook of Katy, TX, as well as eight great nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Fred Stephenson Sr.
