Rose Penn Ross

Rose Penn “Penny” Ross 96 of Mexico, formerly of Moberly, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico. She was born December 12, 1914 in Madison, WI to Frederick and Eugenia (Molinario) Penn. Penny was a teacher at Secondary Public Schools. She served in the Army Air Force, she was a founding director of the Christos Center, a member of the American Legion, the Missouri Farmers Union and a Member of the MNEA. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. On January 5, 1948, in Madison, WI, she married Vernon Merrill Ross and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1997. She is survived by three sons, Robert and Patricia Ross of Moberly, David and Jenny Ross of Moberly and Richard and Sue Ross of Columbia; one daughter Barbara Ross of Jefferson City; one brother Howard Penn of Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and three brothers. Services will be Friday July 15, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the St. Pius X School Foundation or to the Christos Center.
