Russell Edward Shepard

Russell Edward Shepard, 91, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Russell was born May 6, 1929, to Joseph and Mary Marie (Ahrens) Shepard in Desoto, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Gunner's Mate Third Class from 1952 un until 1956. During his career, Russell worked for Medal Gold Dairy in Management for 33 years before retiring. He also worked as a janitor for the University of Missouri, and as a driver for Joe Machens Ford. Russell was a big Mizzou fan. He enjoyed golf, football, and basketball. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Columbia, Missouri, for 28 years. He was preceded by his wife, Vivian (Woodward) Shepard. Survivors include his daughter, Becky Latko, and husband Larry of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; grandchildren: Rob Latko and Kristin Nunez; nephews: Joseph Shepard, Terry Shepard, and Ronald Shepard. A graveside will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Moberly, Missouri, under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes.
