Sandra Jones

Sandra Faye "Sandy" Jones, 84, of Columbia, Missouri, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy was born on February 27, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee. Her adoptive parents, Perry and Lillie Mae Kirkpatrick, provided her with a loving, Christ centered home. She graduated from Jackson High School and later attended West Tennessee Business College.

In the early 1970’s, Sandy moved to Moberly, Missouri, where she accepted a position with Central Bank of Moberly. During her more than 20-year career, she earned the respect of her colleagues and community, ultimately retiring as Vice President. She was also active in civic service, serving as an election judge and president of the local ABWA chapter.

A devoted member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Sandy faithfully served as Sunday school teacher, church board member, and especially cherished her time caring for the children in the church nursery.

Sandy was beautiful inside and out. She never met a stranger and always made time to celebrate with others, mourn alongside them, and care for those in need. She married Ronald Wayne Winkler on August 15, 1970, in Russellville, Alabama, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

A naturally social and active woman, Sandy was deeply involved in her church, workplace, and neighborhood communities. She delighted in planning celebration feasts, carefully preparing delicious meals and decorating every gathering to perfection. Exceptionally talented and endlessly generous, Sandy kept multiple address books to stay connected with the many family members and friends she faithfully remembered with thoughtful cards, gifts, and words of encouragement.

Above all, Sandy loved the Lord and lived her faith each day. To know Sandy was to experience genuine kindness, unwavering faith, and unconditional love. Her family will forever remember her as a beautiful, radiant, and godly wife, mother, grandmother, friend and faithful ambassador for Christ.

She is survived by her daughters, Gina Scavone and husband, Edward, of Columbia, Missouri, and Lisa Lavender and husband, Jim, of Hudson. Illinois.; her granddaughter, Camille Bosilovatz, and husband, Steve, of Prairie Village, Kansas; her grandsons, Andrew Scavone of Columbia, Missouri, Nathan Lavender and wife, Emma, of El Paso, Illinois, and Caleb Lavender of Bloomington, Illinois; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Saige Lavender and Baxter Bosilovatz.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Wayne Winkler, and her loving parents. Perry and Lillie Mae Kirkpatrick.

A funeral service celebrating Sandy’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, Missouri. A private family interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
