Sarah Ann Wright

Sarah Ann (Johnson) Wright, age 62, of Higbee, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family and friends on April 3, 2024, at home.

Sarah was born on October 21, 1961, in Quincy, Illinois, to Richard and Betty (Pinkelman) Wright.

She was a custodian for the Higbee School District for twelve years. Everyone Sarah worked with and all the students held a very special place in her heart.

Sarah’s family and friends will always remember her for her silliness, wittiness, dancing and impromptu singing. She had a soft spot for animals, loved food, fishing, camping, and tending to her flower garden with Jane. Most importantly, Sarah loved her family and friends. She never knew a stranger and that was one of the many wonderful things about her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Betty Wright along with her in-laws, Walter and Joann Hollenberg Jr.

Sarah is survived by her partner of 24 years, Jane Hollenberg of Higbee, MO; Godparents, Peggy (Jim) Kaiser of Quincy, IL; Sister and brother-in-law, Amy (Robert “Butch”) Otto of Boonville, MO; nieces and nephew, Maci Kendrick of Hannibal, MO, Jordan (fiancé, Emily Grace) Summers of Columbia, MO and Abbi (boyfriend, Scott Wayland) Summers of Columbia, MO; aunt, Theresea Stelljes of Higbee, MO; friends and family, Kim and Sue Jones of Higbee, MO, Bill (Susie) Bernand of Moberly, MO and John (Pam) Bernand of Moberly, MO; extended family and friends.

We would also like to extend our thanks and gratitude to everyone who has supported Sarah and Jane through this difficult time. Much love and appreciation to all of you.

A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held at a later date.
