Shirley Ann (Clear) Williams died peacefully in her home June 30, 2026. She was born November 8, 1947 to George William Clear and Etta Mae (Bowman) Clear in Johnson County Missouri.
Shirley graduated from Knob Noster High School, class of 1965. After graduating, she attended Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in 1969. Shirley moved home after college and completed cosmetology school in Warrensburg. She then worked as a hair stylist in Knob Noster until 1971, at which time she moved back to Moberly and shortly after started work at Orscheln Farm and Home. She worked for Orscheln for over 31 years and retired in 2020.
Shirley was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, recently being recognized as a 50-year member. She was a faithful member of Timber Lake Christian Church and was a part of the XYZ group. She enjoyed attending various functions and was willing to help whenever and whomever needed it. She enjoyed baking cookies and an occasional cake or two, playing volleyball and softball (in her early years), attending sorority functions and spending time with her closest friend, Bonnie Wells. Bonnie was like another sister to Shirley—Bonnie’s family was Shirley’s family. Shirley cherished every moment she spent with family and friends, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Survivors include one brother, Larry Clear of Knob Noster, nephews David (Denise) Clear of Warrensburg, Nick (Sharla) Clear of Knob Noster; nieces Sheri (Vince) Jungenburg of Warrensburg, and Deanna Clear of Knob Noster. Shirley had two great nephews, Dustin (Marissa) Brunkhorst and family, and Clay (Leah) Clear.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda (Clear) Kraft.
A funeral service will be held at Timber Lake Christian Church on Friday, July 10th at 11am. Private burial will be at Mt. Zion cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to The American Cancer Society or a charity/organization of your choice. Shirley had a big heart and gave to a variety of charities; she would be grateful and honored if everyone paid it forward.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, 411 Union Avenue, Moberly, MO 65270 (660)263-7284. Condolences may be left online for the family at www. pathwaymemorial.
