Susan Carol McCreery

Susan Carol McCreery, 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her cherished family on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.  Susan was born on November 19, 1948, to Walter and Beatrice Gauthier in St. Clair, Michigan.  She was united in marriage to Ronald “Wayne” McCreery. Susan lived a life that was full of love and joy.

A dedicated volunteer at the VFW Auxiliary 2654 in Moberly, Missouri, Susan found purpose in giving back to her community. Her hands were often busy, whether she was baking up treats with her granddaughters or unraveling the latest neighborhood gossip from the comfort of her front porch. The simple pleasures of life brought her immense joy, and her ability to light up a conversation made those around her feel valued and heard.

Family was at the heart of Susan's life. She loved long talks on the phone with her sisters, daughters, granddaughters, nieces, and nephews, finding delight in the connections she nurtured. Those moments spent sharing stories and laughter were among her most treasured. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially in the company of her girls.

Sue enjoyed traveling, with a particular fondness for cruises. She also enjoyed playing bingo or taking a trip to the casino, she embraced life with a spirit that inspired those around her.

Susan is survived by her beloved daughters, Becky Frasier (Violet) of Winter Garden, FL, and Frankie Sue Sturtevant of Cullman, AL. She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Laura Hickman (Steve) and Sara Butts (Kent), granddaughters, Andrea Paige, Courtney Simmons, Breanna Giles, Dezarae Tucker (Trey), and Mariah Mendoza—as well as her great-granddaughters, Marley Williams and Raylei Paige.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, brothers, Howard (Mary Jean) Gauthier, Fred Gauthier, Walter (Jeanette) Gauthier and Ray (Anita) Gauthier; sisters, Carolyn (Cliff) Jackson, Mary Gill, Ruth Lester and Beatrice (Gary) Haxer.

Join us in honoring Susan's remarkable life during the visitation on March 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel, 411 Union Ave, Moberly, MO, 65270. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
