Tony Lee Hess

Tony Lee Hess, 62, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

He was born May 25, 1963, in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Billy Joe and Mary Lee (Riley) Hess. Tony grew up in Columbia but lived most of his adult life in and around Moberly. He was baptized at Liberty Baptist Church and believed in God and the power of prayer. He was a Worthy Past President and Member of the Grand Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles #2669. Tony had a big heart and deep willingness to help others and participated in many fundraising events to do so. He loved children and although he had none of his own, he loved to tease and play and was a kid at heart.

Tony is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Hess, of Moberly; nieces, Ashley Cosby, Katrina Bradley and Heather Treaster; great nieces, Aya and Izzy Cosby and Abby Bradley; and great nephew, Hayden Bradley. He will also be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Hess; sister, Lisa Diane Treaster; infant brother, Timothy Hess; maternal grandparents, Henry and Mable Riley; and paternal grandparents, Earl and Flossie Hess.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church, 7461 N. Brown Station Rd., Columbia, Missouri, 65202.
