Vernon “Trent” Hackett, 50 of Moberly, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 23, 2021. He was born on June 11, 1971 in Moberly to Thomas Earl Hackett and Sandra Gale Kirkendoll Hackett. Trent was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and “Kirkendoll Hill”. He attended Moberly Public Schools and worked for many years for Randolph County Foundation installing concrete. On October 1, 1994, Trent married the love of his life, Shannon McCormick and the two spent 33 wonderful years together. Trent was all about his family! He and Shannon were inseparable and usually with the kids and grandkids. Trent had a warm smile and huge dimples. He was a kind soul and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed teasing his sister and had a pet name for everyone. Trent also loved music and taking the grandkids on four-wheeler “Wheeler Wheeler” rides. He had a knack for being able to fix all kinds of things and kept a beautiful yard. Trent was an all-around great guy and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. Trent is preceded in death by mother, Sandra Gale Hackett; his son, Brandon Joey Hackett and both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his beloved wife, Shannon Hackett of Moberly; father and step-mother, Thomas and Sue Hackett; children, Jessica Hill of Moberly, Jevin Hackett of Moberly and Trey Hackett of Columbia; grandchildren, Arlie Herrin, Briar Herrin and Rayden Ahrens all of Moberly; siblings, Paul and Rose Hackett, Annette and J. D. Fifer and Kenny Hackett all of Moberly, Tracy and Mike Dawson of Holliday; sister-in-law, Kemmie and Jessie Bennett of Moberly, mother-in-law, Betty Hunt of Moberly; uncle, Dale and Ellen Kirkendoll; aunts, Kathy and Steve Neal, Bertie Rivera, Sue and Jerry Twyman and Barb Ray; extended family and many, many close friends. A celebration of life in Trent’s memory will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 120 W. Outer Road, Moberly, MO 65270.
