Vernon Lynn Williams

Vernon Lynn Williams, 67, of Jacksonville, Florida (formerly of Moberly, MO) passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Florida Memorial Hospital, in Jacksonville, Florida. Vernon was born on February 21, 1959, in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, the son of Thomas and Irene Williams. He attended school in Moberly, MO, and worked for Moberly public schools prior to moving to Florida. He enjoyed bicycling, hunting, working in his yard, helping his neighbors and traveling, often returning to Moberly to visit his family and friends. 

Survivors include his sisters, Elaine Avery of Moberly, MO, Lesley Westbrook of Keller, TX, Jeanette (William) Givens of Huntsville, MO, brother Keith (Terry) Williams of Palatka, FL, sister in law, Gail Williams of Moberly, MO; Nieces and Nephews, Tommy Givens and his son, Cole, Stephanie (Jason) Russell, Nicholas Williams, Chris (Jennifer) Newby of TX, and numerous cousins, including Donna Otoya and her son Anthony.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Irene Williams,  brother Bramuel Williams, niece Pamela Givens, brother in laws, Danny Avery, Kirk Newby, and Wayne Westbrook, grandparents, Thomas Oscar and Dolly Williams  and Arthur and Alice Bigg.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 10:00 ~ 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel, Moberly, MO. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, MO immediately following the Memorial Gathering.
