Vikki Lynn Apel

Vikki Lynn Apel, age 73, of Moberly, MO, peacefully passed away on September 21, 2023, at her home. 

Vikki was born on September 20, 1950, in Decater, IL, to Harry and Juanita Eddingfield Smith.  She graduated from Stephen Decater High School and from Lewis & Clark Community College in 1982 as an LPN. 

Vikki married Ronald Apel on June 20, 1969, in Alton, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn and Elizabeth Marie; one son, Anthony Gene and one brother, Stephen Smith.

Vikki is survived by her husband, Ronald Apel of Moberly, MO; daughter Cathy Apel of Orange, CA; son Gary Apel; several grandchildren; brother Rory Smith and Jan of Theodosha, MO; brother Bruce Smith and Charlene of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law, Levita Smith of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Vikki Apel’s life has been scheduled for Friday, September 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Pathway Millard Funeral Chapel, Moberly, MO.  Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Pathway Millard Funeral Chapel, Moberly, MO.  If desired, donations can be sent to American Cancer Association in Vikki Apel’s memory.
